:) that’s one thing I’m not looking forward to when I start learning Italian (in a couple months) – I can’t roll my R’s :) I can do the French ‘r’ exactly for that reason :) my attempted rolled Rs in Italian sound like a perfect French r! :D
Being able to roll the french R is a big deal for my cantonese tongue! hehehe. I can’t imagine myself rolling the R of spanish, italian or russian…
The future tense and conditional are great ways to practice the r sound.
Try je preferai, tu préféreras etc
or
Je torturerai…
hey ellen,
i had been meaning to drop you a note for days but just got too lazy lately…
anyway, it’s neat that you can share your learning experience with other people. i learned French at Alliance Francaise in HK but have forgotten most of it!! but I really enjoyed it. one of my biggest obstacles was also the ‘r’ sound. i still sound weird when i try to pronouce words with ‘r’ sound. my sister is much better than i do!
keep it up, ca va?
Carmen! Bienvenue à mon troisième monde :)
I hope my study blog will refresh your memory rather than confusing you hehehe.
I am still having fun with “Rrrrr” … sometimes I “rrrrr” too much that my throat gets dry! my french friend laughed at me for getting so excited about it! :)
